RICHMOND — Darvis Gene McIntosh, Jr., 56, of Richmond, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2012 in his home.

He was born on Jan. 25, 1956, in Madison County to Darvis G. McIntosh, Sr., and Janet Rebecca Denny McIntosh, both of whom preceded him in death.  He was also preceded in death by one brother, Tommy McIntosh.

Darvis owned and operated a sod, seeding and landscaping company for many years in Madison County and was of the Christian faith.

He is survived by his wife, Dianne Hicks McIntosh of Richmond; two sons, Darvis G. McIntosh III and Joseph Scott Lee McIntosh, both of Richmond; two daughters, Sherry Lynn McIntosh and Gloria Ramirez, both of Richmond; his grandmother, Ethel Ray Denny of Richmond; two brothers, Johnny McIntosh (Peggy) and Joe McIntosh, both of Richmond; two sisters, Becky Coyle (Larry) and Janet Fritz (John), both of Richmond; ten grandchildren, Adam Jacob Noland, Rebecca E. Noland, William Thomas Noland, Joseph S.L. McIntosh, Jr., Jordon L. McIntosh, Jeremiah A. McIntosh, Caleb McIntosh, John David McIntosh, Darvis G. McIntosh, IV, and Maggie McIntosh,  as well as, several nieces and nephews.

Services for Darvis, Jr., will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012 at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home, with Bro. Kenny Davis officiating.  Burial will follow in the McIntosh Family Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 – 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be David Denny, Ike Douglas, John Fritz, Larry Coyle, Dwight Winkler, Noble VanWinkle, and Larry Davenport.  Honorary bearers will be Melvin Smith, Richard Rumble, Adam Noland, Andrew Bowlin, Leroy Marcum, Johnny Grant, Charlie Powell, Jerry McIntosh and Mike York.
