Betty Ann Atwell Brown, 83


RICHMOND — Betty Ann Atwell Brown, 83, passed away on Oct. 1 at Hospice Compassionate Care in Richmond, KY. She was born in Lexington to Pallas and Frances Atwell. 

Betty was married to Marion Scott Brown, only parting with his death in 2004. She was active for many years at Rosemont Baptist Church and upon retiring from Fayette Co. Clerk’s Office and U.K., she became a volunteer at Central Baptist Hospital. Betty’s humor and love will be missed by all who knew her.

Survivors include two daughters, Debra Lynn Richardson, Lexington, and Ann (Jimmy) Cotton, Richmond; four grandchildren, Daniel Scott Mallory, Brian Patrick (Sara) Hurt, Dale Thomas Mallory and Dawn Marie (Shane) Hastings; seven great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Julia Hurt, Caleb Mallory, Kaycee and Garrett Mallory, and Kelbi and Kenasyn Hastings; a very beloved sister, Marie Frances Epperson, Lexington; a nephew, Ron Epperson and a niece, Julia McKune. 

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 pm Wednesday at Milward-Southland where services will be conducted at 11:30 am Thursday with burial at Blue Grass Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Scott Mallory, Brian Hurt, Dale Mallory, Shane Hastings, Jimmy Cotton, Donnie Paul, Ron Epperson and Harold McKune. 

In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to Hospice Compassionate Care Center or Rosemont Baptist Church.  A special thanks to the caring people at Telford Terrace and Hospice Care Center of Richmond.
