RICHMOND — Gearlean Gentry Howard, 73, of Richmond, passed away Saturday, April 6, 2013, in the Hospice Compassionate Care Center of Richmond.

She was born August 6, 1939, in Richmond, Kentucky, to Beachum and Evelyn Hensley Gentry, both of whom preceded her in death.

Gearlean had worked as a nurse at Stillwater Hospital in Dayton, Ohio, and was of the Holiness faith.

She is survived by: three daughters, Mary Maxwell, Kathy Piercy (James) and Rose Smith (Wiley “Neff”) of Richmond; one brother, Glen Gentry of Williamsburg; grandchildren Adra Hiatt (Robert), Teresa Stacy (Steve), Hank Schmitz Jr., Shane Schmitz and Misty Schmitz; several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Harold, Kenneth and Cecil Gentry.

Services will be conducted 1 p.m. Thursday, April 11, 2013, at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home, with Rev. David King officiating. Burial will follow in the Gentry Cemetery at Speedwell in Madison County.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Oldham, Roberts & Powell.

Pallbearers are Robert Hiatt, Steve Stacy, Mathew Brandenburg, Justin Stacy, Shane Schmitz and Dustin Dargavell. Honorary bearers will be Wiley “Neff” Smith, Dan Maxwell, Thomas Farthing, Paul Farthing and James Piercy.
