Turley Boggs Tudor, 87

Born in Richmond

RICHMOND — Turley Boggs Tudor, 87, passed away at his home Sunday, February 9, 2014, in Tallahassee, Florida, with his wife and son close by. He was born in Richmond, Kentucky on April 12, 1926, and was the youngest son of Jesse and Mary Doty Tudor.

Turley served six years in the military, two of which were in the Korean conflict. Turley received the Occupation Medal of Japan, Korean Service Medal, five Bronze Service Stars, World War II Victory Medal and Combat Infantry Badge.

Turley was a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University with a master’s in English and accounting. He taught high school in Sturgis, Michigan, and Sarasota, Florida.

He was a member of Lafayette Presbyterian Church.

Turley is survived by his wife, May Taylor Wall Tudor, of 61 years, and a son, Jesse Tudor of Tallahassee. He also is survived by one sister, Elizabeth Deurson, of Richmond; one grandson, Clayton Tudor of Falls Church, Virginia; and one great-granddaughter, Adriana Victoria Tudor.

He was preceded in death by his youngest son, Frank S. Tudor; three brothers, Edgar Sparks Tudor, William T. Tudor and Virgil Gaines Tudor, and four sisters, Mary Sue Purcell, Hallie B. Campbell, Margaret Louise Greco and Lena W. Hall. Turley had four nieces and 13 nephews.

A private family memorial services will be held in Richmond at a later date.
