BEREA — Bob Bruce Fields of Berea passed away Thursday, April 4, 2013, in the Hospice Compassionate Care Center of Richmond.

He was born in Letcher County, Kentucky, to the late Bob and Mae Stamper Fields.

He was an auctioneer and cattle farmer. He had earned the title of Kentucky Colonel and was a member of Hays Fork Baptist Church, however, he loved visiting with friends at Bethel, Silver Creek and Westside Baptist churches. He was also a U.S. Air Force veteran and served in the Korean War.

Bruce is survived by: his five children, Rinnie (Mike) Phelps, Susan Fields, Mary Fields (Barry) Skipper, Robyne Fields and Robert Jake Fields; a special friend to him Dolores Sizemore; four siblings, Callie Frances Greene, Sarah (Wilson) Bond, Mary Jane Sparrow Hunt and Jim (Sheila) Fields; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren also survive him.

In addition to his parents, Bruce was also preceded in death by his sister, Berneda Price, and two brothers, Leroy and Kelly Fields.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, April 8, 2013, at Lakes Funeral Home with Rev. Kenny Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Berea Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday evening from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Robert Jake Fields, Devyn Fields, Colton Fields, Derek Abney, Michael Phelps and Robbie Phelps. Honorary bearers will be Barry Skipper, Mike Phelps, Mike Geile, Nick Miller and Darrell Edester.
