RICHMOND — Helen Rogers, 79, of Richmond, the widow of Arthur Rogers, passed away Saturday, January 11, 2014, at the Hospice Compassionate Career in Richmond.

She was born December 14, 1934, to Arch and Elsie Jane Sizemore Abshear, both of whom preceded her in death. She was a homemaker and of the Holiness faith.

Survivors include: one daughter, Trula Faye Rogers (Matthew Kelly); her sons, David Rogers, Donald Rogers, Lloyd Rogers (Judy), Larry Rogers, Lewis Rogers (Rhonda), James Rogers and Floyd Rogers, all of Richmond; one sister, Emma Ray; her brothers, Luther, Herman and Dallas Abshear; 30 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by: one son, Tony Rogers; and four brothers, William, James, Paul and Winford Abshear.

Funeral services for Mrs. Rogers will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 14, 2014, at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home with Bro. David Lamb and Bro. Philip Payne officiating. Burial will follow in Pilot Knob Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday at Oldham, Roberts & Powell.
