RICHMOND —

William R. “Billy” Turner, 49, husband of Joyce Crouch Turner, died Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014, at his home after a battle with cancer.

Billy was a self-employed carpet installer and had been a member of the Red Lick Volunteer Fire Department since it was founded.

Billy is the son of the late Ruford Turner Jr. and the late Barbara Abrams Turner Hacker.

Billy is survived by: his wife, Joyce Crouch Turner; and two sons, Jason (Melinda) Turner and Brandon Scott Turner; his sisters, Tina (Ricky) Rose and Connie (Doug) Hunt; and his granddaughter, Katie Marie Turner.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2014, at the Red Lick Baptist Church with Bro. Ermon Turner and Bro. Charley Wilson officiating. Burial will be in the Red Lick Cemetery.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Red Lick Baptist Church.
