RICHMOND — Edith Rose, 95, of Richmond, passed away on Sunday, January 5, 2014 at Hospice Compassionate Care Center. She was the widow of Lloyd Rose.

Mrs. Rose was born June 21, 1918, in Jackson County, the daughter of Thomas and Lydia Jane Lainhart Rose, both of whom preceded her in death.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Tates Creek Baptist Church and the Eastern Star No. 563 of Englewood, Ohio. Mrs. Rose enjoyed cooking, sewing and gardening, and she loved to have her family together.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Rose was preceded in death by four brothers.

Survivors include: one son, Chester L. Rose of Richmond; two daughters, Gail Barker of Richmond and Estelle Rohr of Lexington; five grandchildren, Sandy (Mark) Owen, James E. (Lisa) Rohr II, Dwight David (Donetta) Rohr, Michael (Katherine) Rose and Lisa Rose; nine great-grandchildren, James E. Rohr III, Brittany Owen, Lauren Rohr, Jesse Owen, Mason Rohr, Mikayla Owen, Kellie Rohr, Jacob Rose and Amanda Rose; and one sister, Hallie Gilbert.

Funeral services for Edith Rose will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, January 9, 2014, at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home with Bro. Scott Guiley officiating. Burial will follow in the West Irvine Cemetery.

Pallbearers will James E. Rohr II, James E. Rohr III, David Rohr, Mark Owen, Jesse Owen and Roland Adams.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, January 8, 2014, at Oldham, Roberts & Powell.
