Kathy J. Green, 55, loving wife of 37 years to Richard C. Green, died Wednesday, May 15, 2013, at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington.
She was born July 16, 1957, in Madison County, Ky., the daughter of the late Audley L. and Barbara Payne Sams.
She was a member of the Lexington Road Church of God. Kathy was a loyal wife, mother, sister and friend. She had a beautiful voice and was always a comedian. Kathy was a hard-working woman and very supporting of her husband on their farm.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by: two children, J. Michael Green and Ashley Nichole Green; two grandchildren, Emma Annes King and Noah Michael Green; and four sisters, Madonna Sams Barnes (Thomas T.), Connie Sams Howe (Ronnie), Tammy Sams Short (Larry) and Stephanie Sams Hunter.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Alan Lance Sams.
Funeral services will be conducted 10 a.m. Saturday, May 18, 2013, at the Lancaster Road Church of God with Bro. Butch Payne and Bro. Phillip Payne officiating.
Burial will follow in the Madison County Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, May 17, 2013, at the Combs, Parsons and Collins Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be: Harvey Baxter, Thomas T. Barnes, Bruce Barnes, Ronnie Howe, Tyler Hunter, J.D. Green, Kenneth Agee and Orville Renfro.

Mrs. Lakes was born June 13, 1930, in Rockcastle County to James and Delia Johnson Abrams.
She was retired from Brown & Williams Tobacco Company in Lexington. She was a faithful listener of the WLJC Gospel Broadcast and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

A native of Richmond, Kentucky, he was the son of Marcus and Johnetta Arch Winburn, both of whom preceded him in death. Gary had been an employee of the former Begley Drug Company and was a retired employee of Car Quest Auto Parts Store. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Richmond.
