Barbara Sue Kabalen, 68

Richmond

RICHMOND — Barbara Sue Kabalen, 68, of Richmond, passed away Monday, May 13, 2013, in the Hospice Compassionate Care Center of Richmond.

She was born June 14, 1944, at Glendale, Kentucky, to Leslie and Maggie Richardson Smith, both of whom preceded her in death.

She was a retired employee of the Bluegrass Army Depot and a member of the Forks of Dix River Baptist Church in Garrard County. She loved her family, her friends, and her church and enjoyed fishing very much.

Barbara is survived by: her husband, Freddie M. Kabalen of Richmond; two daughters, Denise Pinkston (Mike) of Garrard County and Angie Haley of Richmond; one son, Mickey Kabalen (Sandye) of Richmond; one sister, Lois Cabaniss of Texas; five grandchildren, Jennifer Couch, Matthew Pinkston, Hunter Kabalen, Karlee Kabalen and Alyssa Haley; three great grandchildren, Hayden Couch, Bentley Couch and Tate Pinkston.

Services for Barbara will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 16, 2013, at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home, 1110 Barnes Mill Road, Richmond, Kentucky, with Bro. Jerry Browning and her son, Mickey Kabalen, officiating.

Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be: Gary Kabalen, Jim Kabalen, Andy Kabalen, Matthew Pinkston, Hunter Kabalen and Timmy Blair.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Hospice Care Plus, 208 Kidd Drive, Berea, KY 40403
