Elsie Alice Gamble Campbell, 96

Estill native lived most of life in Chicago

BEREA — Elsie Alice Gamble Campbell, age 96, passed away Wednesday, August 7, 2013, at The Terrace in Berea, Ky.

She was born March 15, 1917, in Estill County, Ky., and was a daughter of the late Kendall and Klista Sloan Gamble. She was a homemaker and lived in Chicago most of her life.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husband, Leroy Campbell; two sisters, Thelma Cary and Margie Vaughn; and three brothers, Robert, Shiloh and Martin Gamble.

She is survived by: one daughter, Geraldine Schatz, Chicago, Ill.; one sister, Edna Burns, Richmond, Ky.; two brothers, Edward K. Gamble, Richmond, Ky., Jerald Gamble, Covington, Ky.

Memorial services will be conducted at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Warren F. Toler Funeral Home in Irvine.

    Delbert J. Turner, 87, passed away Friday, July 4, 2014, at the Hospice Compassionate Care Center in Richmond.
    Delbert was born February 4, 1927, a son of Edmond and Mary Cleo Moberly Turner, both of whom preceded him in death.
    He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of the Kirksville Baptist Church. He retired from WestinghousePhillips Lighting.
