Rose Katherine Robinson, 79

RICHMOND — Rose Katherine Robinson, 79, wife of John W. Robinson, passed away Thursday at Baptist Health in Richmond after a short illness.

Mrs. Robinson was a native of Estill County, a daughter of the late Chester and Lizzie Mansfield Marcum.

She was a retired teacher’s aide, working at Bellevue, Mayfield, and Madison Middle Schools. Mrs. Robinson was a member of Clarksville Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by brothers William Henry Marcum, Glendon Marcum, and J.B. Marcum.

Survivors, other than her husband of 59 years, John W. Robinson, include her children, Betty and husband Jerry Carpenter, David and wife Beverly Robinson, Billy and wife Lisa Robinson, Wesley and wife Joyce Robinson; her sisters, Bessie Reece, Dessie Burton, and Mona “Tootise” Robinson; her grandchildren, Johnny Robinson, Beth and husband David Joyce, Krystle Robinson, Cathy Carpenter, Bobby and wife Valerie Carpenter, Josh Lynch, Earl Wesley “Boo” Robinson, Chris Robinson, Michelle Goforth, and Janis; numerous great-grandchildren also survive, as well as a host of nephews and nieces.

Services will be conducted 2:30 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 4, at the Heritage Funeral Home, 237 N. Second St., Richmond, with Bro. Bradley Jones and Bro. Edwin Lainhart officiating. Burial will follow in the Turpin Cemetery at Winston.

Friends may call anytime after noon until service time. Pallbearers will be Bobby Carpenter, Mike French, Ronnie Rollins, Josh Lynch, Chris Robinson and Charles Marcum.

Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
