RICHMOND — Roscoe Flinchem, 74, of Richmond, passed away Thursday, July 4, 2013, in the Hospice Compassionate Care Center of Richmond.

He was born February 19, 1939, in Irvine, Kentucky, to the late Lewis George and Laura Abbney Flinchem. He was also preceded in death by his stepmother, Gertrude Flinchem.

He was a retired supervisor for Cor-Pipe of Des Plaines, Illinois, and had served in the National Guard. Roscoe was of the Baptist faith and was a huge fan of the old westerns, especially of John Wayne.

Survivors include: his loving wife, Marlene Miller Flinchem of Richmond; his children, Tom Flinchem of Illinois, Cheryle Richter of Wisconsin, Robert Flinchem (Deanna) of Illinois, Laura Ashe of Kentucky, Tami Mercadante (Vince) of Illinois and Michael Milillo of Kentucky.

He also leaves one brother, Roy Flinchem (Debbie) of Hodgenville, Kentucky; 12 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

The service for Roscoe will be conducted at 3 p.m. Monday, July 8, 2013, at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home with Fr. Jim Sichko officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Entombment will follow on Tuesday at Madison County Memorial Gardens.
