RICHMOND — Virginia Mae Niles Gorman, 89, of Richmond, passed away Tuesday, June 11, 2013, at the UK Medical Center in Lexington.

She was born May 1, 1924, at Walton, New York, to Carl and Martha Marshnick Niles, both of whom preceded her in death.

She was the widow of Arthur L. Gorman Sr. She had served as a registered nurse in the U.S. Army until she became a homemaker to care for her family. Mrs. Gorman was of the Episcopal faith.

She is survived by: two sons, Art (Larry) Gorman Jr., and his wife Kathy, of Lexington, and Kevin Gorman of Richmond; five grandchildren, Marissa Ashley Gorman, Jared Lawrence Gorman, Melinda Gorman, Taran Gorman and Thomas Gorman; as well as four great-grandchildren, Jadon, Amya, Aaron and Nathan.

Mrs. Gorman also is survived by two nieces, Nancy Trask and Diana, and two nephews, Richard and Robert Robinson.

Private graveside services will be conducted Saturday, June 15, 2013, at the Richmond Cemetery, where burial will follow. David Evans will officiate the service. By the request of Mrs. Gorman, there will be no public visitation.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to one's favorite charity in her memory.
