Orris E. ‛Ode’ Lain, 94,

RICHMOND — Orris E. “Ode” Lain, 94, of Richmond, died Wednesday, October 9, 2013, in his home.

He was born November 14, 1918, in Dreyfus, Kentucky, to June Embry and Margaret (Brockman) Lain, both of whom preceded him in death.

Mr. Lain was retired from the Blue Grass Army Depot and was a Navy veteran of WWII and the Korean War.

He was the oldest member of the Indian Creek Lodge No. 614 F&AM in Jackson County with a membership of more than 70 years.

He is survived by: one daughter, Judy Ann Lain and husband Jack of Richmond; two grandchildren, Edwin Tucker and his wife Lee Ann, and Rhonda Tucker; four great-grandchildren, Kalia, Yasmin, Athena and Jaya Tucker; one niece, Jo Ann Lain Sowder and husband Ed; two nephews, June Lee Maupin and wife Teresa, and Arthur Ralph Lain and wife Teresa, as well as one great-nephew, Chris Stewart.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: two sisters, Emma B. Lain and Dora D. Lain; and three brothers, June Shelton Lain, Riley Harris Lain and Rivis Edward Lain.

Services will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday, October 11, 2013, at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home with Rev. Harry Revel officiating.

Burial will follow in Madison County Memorial Gardens with military honors.

Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday followed by a 7 p.m. Masonic service at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home.
