Clark Kellogg "Chuck" Orttenburger, 88, of Richmond, died Tuesday, October 1, 2013, at the Hospice Compassionate Care Center of Richmond.

He was born January 14, 1925, in Berea, Kentucky, to Charles William and Alice Clark (Kellogg) Orttenburger, both of whom preceded him in death. He attended the University of Kentucky and was a member of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity while there. He served as an engineer gunner in the Army Air Corp during W W II and was a member of the American Legion and the Lions Club.

Mr. Orttenburger was a business owner for a number of years. He retired as Assistant Director of Personnel at Eastern Kentucky University. He was a member of St. Hubert's Episcopal Church.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret Arnold (Oldham) Orttenburger of Richmond; one daughter, Margaret Orttenburger Sutherland, and her husband, Dr. Lewis Sutherland, of Richmond; one son, Marsh Clark Orttenburger and his wife Freda, of Richmond; two grandchildren, Charles "Chad" Oldham Hall, his wife, Stacey, and Lane Clark Orttenburger, his fiancée, Ashleigh. Other survivors include two great-grandsons, Austin Worley Hall and Aiden Lane Orttenburger, as well as, a niece, Marilyn Williams, and her husband, Jimmy Dale Williams.

The funeral service for Mr. Orttenburger will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 4, 2013, at St. Hubert's Episcopal Church on Grimes Mill Road. Father Charles Ellestad will officiate the service.
