James B. Hisel, age 63

LEXINGTON — James B. Hisel, 63, of Lexington, died Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at the Compassionate Care Center in Richmond. He was a native of Jackson County and a retired foreman for United Transportation. He was a member of the Moose Club where he had served as sergeant-at-arms and the American Legion Post #341. He was a great story teller and a cut up.

James is survived by: his sisters, Kathy Marshall (Leon) of Berea, Marilyn Hisel of Richmond, Carolyn Eland of Mt. Vernon; his brother, Jerry Hisel (Mirasol) of Lexington; his son, Joe Sims of Paducah, Ky.; his aunt, Christine Thompson of Berea; a very special friend, Barbara Finch of Lexington. Several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents Robert D. and Beatrice Carpenter Hisel, and a sister, Betty Rose.

Funeral services for Mr. Hisel will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the Davis & Powell Funeral Home with Bro. Ricky Rector officiating. Burial will follow in the Madison County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
