RICHMOND — Dawn H. Brooks, 69, of Richmond, passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2013, in her sleep at the Compassionate Care Center.

She had been in the hold of heart failure for three years, but awoke whole and free.

She was born February 19, 1944, in Rose Hill, Va.

She is noted by her family as being “Their Biggest Fan.” She was a reflection of all that is honest and good and just in the world. All that could be said was said, and all that could be done was done.

She will be remembered by: one daughter, Winifred Stump (George); two sons, John Brooks (Angie) and Brady Brooks (Melody); twin sister Darrell Simpson (Ronnie); and six grandchildren, Andrew, Maggie, Bryant, Bryce, Cassy and Nicholas.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Bessie Cain.

Celebration services will be conducted 3:30 p.m. Saturday, June 22, 2013, at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 1 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday prior to the funeral service.
