Catherine Davis Murphy, 85

RICHMOND — Catherine Davis Murphy, 85, passed away on Tuesday at Richmond Health & Rehab-Kenwood. She was the widow of Clarence S. Murphy.

Mrs. Murphy was a bookkeeper for Madison Murphy LLC and Richmond Realty Inc. She was born May 28, 1928, in Madison County and was the daughter of the late Hubert and Anna Lee Davis.

Survivors include: two sons, Robert Steven Murphy (Rosa Lynn), of Richmond, and Michael Murphy, of Oakland, California; six grandchildren, Steven Scott Murphy, Connie M. Puckett, Nancy Kaylor, Cheryl Huff, Janet Thacker and Karen Morse; five great-grandchildren, Ashley Curry, Miranda Curry, Lindsey Murphy, Taylor Murphy and Alexa Murphy; one great-great-granddaughter, Rylee Robertson; one aunt, Dorothy House, of Richmond; one brother, Tommy Smith, of Ohio; two sisters, Junetta Smith, of Richmond, and Charlene Bell, of Alabama.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Milton Scott Murphy, and a granddaughter, Amy Kathryn Curry, and one brother, James Smith.

Funeral services for Catherine Murphy will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 14, 2013 at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Chuck Curry, Wesley Lorman, Steven Murphy and Darrell Lowery.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 13, 2013, at the funeral home.
