James Darrell Adams, 65,

RICHMOND — James Darrell Adams, 65, of Richmond, a patriot who was proud of his military service, passed away Saturday, February 8, 2014, at his home.

He was born Friday, May 7, 1948, in Madison County, Ky., the son of Carl and Lorene Sparks Adams. He was a graduate of Madison Central High School and served his country, retiring as a lieutenant colonel from the U.S. Army Reserves after 32 years of service. He loved golfing and camping and was a retired technical engineer with IBM/Lexmark.

Survivors include: his mother, Lorene Sparks Adams; three daughters, Lori Beth Eve (Scott) of Frankfort, Kari Maloney (Steve) of Lexington and Lindsey Wagner (Chris) of Portland, Oregon; one sister, Charlotte Durham (Mitchell) of Richmond; one grandson, Deacon Maloney; three nephews and one niece.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Paul Adams.

Private funeral services will be conducted at a later date. Expressions of sympathy can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
