Danny Wayne Mason, 68


Winchester — Danny Wayne Mason, 68, of Winchester, Kentucky, passed away Monday, January 20, 2014, at his residence.

Born February 10, 1945, Danny lived most of his life in the Baldwin area of Madison County.

He enjoyed the outdoors, especially being able to hunt and fish on the surrounding farms in the Baldwin community with friends and family.

Most endearing to Danny was his family and the love he had for each of them. His kindness and compassion will be forever remembered by all who knew him.

Danny was a man of great faith and love for the Lord. He was a member of the Mt. Tabor Baptist Church. He loved to sing and listen to the old gospel songs that he grew up hearing while attending church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Malcolm and Dorothy Jones, and Daniel Mason.

Mr. Mason is survived by: his wife, Gladys Woods Mason; a daughter, Shannyn (Robert) Mason Johnsen; Berea, Ky.; his sisters, Carolyn (John) Revel, Barbara M. (Darrell) Thomas and Betty M. Adams, all of Richmond, Ky.; a brother, David M. (Kay) Jones, Richmond, Ky.; his grandchildren, Bridget (Will) Johnsen Rodgers, Michael (Kristen) B. Johnsen and Bailee E. Johnsen; two great-grandchildren, Landon W. Rodgers, Lillly Mae Rodgers; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, January 24, 2014, at the Combs, Parsons, & Collins Funeral Home with Bro. Scott Guiley officiating. Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday, January 23, 2014, at the funeral home.

Pallbearers honoring Mr. Mason are Donald Wayne Short, Danny Wayne Hale, Jim Revel, Michael Lilly, Alan Shearer, Danny Renfro, Chad Thomas and Larry Jones.
