Pearl Etta White, 80

RICHMOND — Pearl Etta White, 80, peacefully entered into heavenly rest on January 14, 2014.

She was born June 23, 1933, in Richmond, the daughter of the late Oscar and Lucy Tribble White.

She was a lifetime member of the First Baptist Church, where she served faithfully as a trustee, usher and was a member of the Women’s Fellowship. She was also a faithful attendant at Wednesday Night Bible Study. Pearl was well known for culinary and art skills. She would always have a kind word and a smile for everyone.

She was a graduate of Richmond High School and a retiree of Eastern Kentucky University, where she served as a night hostess for 30 years. She was a member of the Madison County Homemakers (The Latecomers). She loved her family dearly.

She was preceded in death by: two brothers, Donnie White, Thomas White; and a sister, Mary Lee White Ballew.

Survivors include: her sister, Gwendolyn (William) Gray; a nephew, Anthony (Valessa) Gray; nieces, Vicki (Timothy) Mitchell, Sandra (Darren) Barnes; a great-niece, Lauren Mitchell; and many cousins, special neighbors and special friends.

Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday, January 18, 2014, at the First Baptist Church, 300 Francis St., with the Rev. Dr. Robert R. Blythe officiating. Interment will follow at Madison Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the church.

The Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
