BEREA — Command Sergeant Major Harry C. Bonny Jr., 87, of Berea, died Tuesday evening Jan. 22, 2013 in Thomson Hood Veteran Center in Wilmore. He was a lifelong resident of Madison County, born Aug. 22,1925, son of the late Harry C. and Mayme Abner Bonny. Harry retired from the U.S. Army on Aug. 22,1985 with over 41 years of service, and he also retired from the Blue Grass Army Depot with over 38 years of service. He was a member of Berea Lodge #617 F&AM, and the Baptist Faith.

He is survived by his children, Debby (Larry) Burdette, Mary Ann (George) Arvin, Harry C. Bonny III, Charles (Ramona) Bonny and Anita (Brandon) Holman; his grandchildren, Josh Dillon, Jeffrey Burdette, Brandon Arvin, Jonna Beth Ward, Anna Banks, Rebecca Bonny, Angela Saylor and Allison Saylor; his great-grandchildren, Alexus, Madison and Riley Dillon, Ashton and Brooklynne Arvin, Sophie and Charlee Ward, Preston Banks and Brayden Bowles; nieces Karen Cloud and Kathy Goin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 45 years, Barbara Jones Bonny, brother Charles H. Bonny, sister Louise Sherrard, grandson Jason Dillon and great-granddaughter Arica Dillon.

There will be a funeral service at 10 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013 at Reppert Funeral Home with Bro.
