RICHMOND — Birdie Elizabeth Jones, 84, of Richmond, passed away Thursday, November 28, 2013 at Richmond Health & Rehab Complex-Kenwood.

She was born March 13, 1929, at Dayton, Ohio, to Roy White Jones and Fannie Elizabeth Reeves Jones, both of whom preceded her in death.

She had worked for many years and retired from the Arlington House, with Eastern Kentucky University, and was a member of Big Hill Christian Church of Richmond.

One of her great pleasures during the Christmas season was making candy, especially peanut brittle, to share with her family and friends

She is survived by: one sister, Opal Frazier; one niece, Marsha Frazier; three nephews, Roy Frazier (and Marita), David Frazier (and Debbie), their sons, Travis, Jordon and Tyler, and Paul Frazier (and Jennifer) and their sons, Matthew and Nicholas. She also leaves a special caregiver and family member, Sharon Parks.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Roy W. Jones Jr.

Services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, December 1, 2013, at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home with Bro. Mark Pearson officiating. Burial will be in the Richmond Cemetery. Nephews will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. until service time Sunday at the funeral home.
