Mary Katherine Daugherty, 83

RICHMOND — Mary Katherine Daugherty, 83, of Richmond, the widow of Archie White Daugherty, passed away Thursday afternoon, November 28, 2013, at the St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington.

She was born June 16, 1930, in Madison County, the daughter of the late Wilbert and Laura Dennis Renfro.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Broadway Baptist Church. A loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she loved her family dearly, and they in turn loved and adored her as well.    

Survivors include: four sons, Randall Wayne Daugherty (Sharon), Darrell Daugherty (Mareita), Jerry Daugherty and Johnny Dale Daugherty (Kim); four daughters, Phyllis Ray King (Sherman), Carolyn Faye Hisle (Kenneth), Sandra Kaye McFerron (Mark) and Shelia Renee Adams (Brian); one sister, Mattie Curry (Paul); 12 grandchildren, Angie Gooch (Tommy), Rev. Chris King (Candy), Melissa Pancake (Alan), Amanda King, Jay Daugherty (Casey), Kathy Daugherty, Kelsey Caskey (Shane), Clint Daugherty, Stephen McFerron, Hunter McFerron, Brandon Adams and Mary Carol Adams; one step-grandchild, Renee Rollins (John); 11 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by: two children, Carolyn Ann and Mary Elizabeth Daugherty; and two brothers, William Ray Renfro and Alvin Renfro.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 2, 2013, at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home with Rev. Chris King officiating. Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

The family would like thank the nurses, staff and friends of The Terrace in Berea for the love and kindness shown to their mother. To her neighbors at Richmond Manor and her Sunday school class at Broadway Baptist Church, she treasured the times that you shared together.
