Edna Mae Wilson McQueen, 86

RICHMOND — Edna Mae Wilson McQueen, 86, the widow of David C. McQueen, passed away, June 9, 2013, at the Compassionate Care Center in Richmond, after a short illness.

She was born on January 27 1927, the daughter of the late Walter and Gladys Becknell Wilson.

A native of Madison County, she was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved her family, gardening and being outdoors. She was a member of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include: her daughter, Kay Emmitt (Billy) of Richmond; a granddaughter, Sheryl Withers Woolverton (James) of Lexington; a grandson, David Withers (Ashleigh) of Richmond; and a great-grandson, Andrew David Withers.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by: a daughter, Barbara McQueen Withers; an infant son, David McQueen Jr.; and a brother, Ralph Wilson.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 12, at the Combs, Parsons  & Collins Funeral Home with Rev. Ray VanCamp officiating.

Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.

Serving as pallbearers will be: James Woolverton, Billy Emmitt, David Withers, Johnny Hall, Bruce Emmitt and Lee Emmitt.
