RICHMOND — Dick Cobb Tipton, 75, of Richmond, passed away Friday, July 12, 2013, at his home.

He was born December 18, 1937, in Richmond, Kentucky, to Earl and Mildred Cobb Tipton, both of whom preceded him in death.

He was a retired employee of Robinson Tool and Die and of the former Exide Company of Richmond.

Dick served as a security officer for Madison District Court and had served in the National Guard. He was a member of Waco Lodge No. 338 F&AM and of Flatwoods Christian Church.

Survivors include: his loving wife, Mary Mink Tipton; three daughters, Betsy Tipton Grise, Ann Kelly Smith (and husband Ken), Mitzi Tipton; one son, Dick Cobb Tipton II; one brother, Meredith “Butch” Tipton (and wife Carol), all of Richmond.

He also leaves: five grandchildren, Robbie Grise (and wife Tara), Leigh Koetsch (and husband Geoff), Andy Smith (and wife Ryan), Corey Kenton Smith and Jacob Smith; two great-grandchildren, Ann Bailey Smith and Scarlett Elizabeth Koetsch; as well as his beloved pet, Gracie.

Funeral service for Dick will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday, July 15, 2013, at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home. Dr. Glenn Birkett will officiate and burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery.

Friends will be received from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be: Robbie Grise, Andy Smith, Corey Smith, Jacob Smith, Kenny Smith and Geoff Koetsch. Honorary bearers will be: Bill Strong, Kenny Weitkamp, Dave Hoskins and Greg Williams.
