Evansville, Ind. —
Betty Jean Baker, 78 of Evansville, Ind., passed away at 11:55 a.m., Tuesday, April 29, 2014, at her home.
Betty was born May 18, 1935, in Morehead, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Luther and Leona (Preecs) Price.
She was a charter member of Mill Road Baptist Church.
Betty was a hard worker throughout her life. She was a devoted wife to her late husband, Ercil, and a loving and dedicated mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She was an avid collector who thoroughly enjoyed flea markets and yard sales. She will be deeply missed by her family, church family and many loving friends.
Betty is survived by: daughter, Pat Banks (Alan) of Richmond, Ky., son, James “Jim” Baker (Julie) of Evansville, Ind.; grandchildren, Joshua Banks, Zackary Banks (Dionne), Chad Baker and Brooke Baker; great-grandchildren, Dexter Banks and Isabella Grace Lehman; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 56 years, Ercil Baker Jr., in 2011 and her siblings.
A prayer service will be conducted at 3:30 p.m., Saturday, May 3, 2014, with visitation from 2 p.m. until time of service at Mill Road Baptist Church, 80 W. Mill Road, Evansville, Ind., with Pastor Bill Kellough officiating.
Private burial will be in the Burchett Family Cemetery in Olive Hill, Ky.
Boone Funeral Home-East Chapel, 5330 Washington Avenue, Evansville, Ind., is handling arrangements.
