RICHMOND — Dan W. Ledford, 95, of Richmond Road in Paint Lick, passed away Friday, January 24, 2014, at Kenwood Health & Rehab in Richmond.

Born July 29, 1918 in Mariba, Kentucky, Dan was a son of the late James Martin and Maggie Elizabeth Ward Ledford.

He had been a farmer and a longtime school bus driver, was a World War II Army veteran, a member and elder of the Paint Lick Presbyterian Church and a member of the American Legion and DAV.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Eva LaVerne Rhodus Ledford, and two brothers, Smith and W.C. “Cliff” Ledford.

His survivors include: a son, Dan Ward (Janet) Ledford of Lancaster; a daughter, Judith Ledford Sparks of Lexington; a grandson, James Daniel Ledford; two step-grandsons, Keith and Scott Long; and two step-great-grandchildren, Samantha and Sarah Long.

Services will be noon Monday, January 27, 2014, at the Paint Lick Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Bryce McGowan officiating. Burial following in the Paint Lick Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Ronnie and Bill Ledford, Lloyd and Jerry Rhodus, Gary Clark and Bryan Bolton.

Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday, January 26, 2014, at Ramsey Funeral Home in Lancaster and from 10 a.m. until service time Monday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may go to the National Kidney Foundation or the Paint Lick Presbyterian Church Building Fund.
