Sherman W. Agee, 85

RICHMOND — Sherman W. Agee, 85, of Richmond, passed away Tuesday morning, May 13, 2014, at the Hospice Compassionate Care Center of Richmond.

He was born November 10, 1928, in Madison County to Irvine and Hallie B. Goodlett Agee, both of whom preceded him in death. He also was preceded in death by his loving wife, Edith Lee Clines Agee.

Sherman was a retired supervisor for the Richmond City Street Department and a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Grace Wesleyan Church on Aspen Avenue in Richmond.

Sherman enjoyed fishing, hunting, storytelling, singing and above all else he loved his family dearly.

Survivors include: one son, Sherman Wilson Agee Jr, (Sadie) of Richmond; two daughters, Fonda Smith (Bill) of Port Orange, Fla., and Brenda Bullins-Bogie (Dwayne) of Richmond; one sister, Christine Donathan of Lexington.

He also leaves: his grandchildren, Richy Lowery, Tina Alcindor, Sherman Wilson Agee III, Lisa Ann Sowers, Richard “Bubby” Agee, Chris Bullins, William Cephus Lowery, William Thomas Lowery, Billie Jean Lowery, Cassandra Lowery Hill, Phyllis Daughtery, Rosemary James, Debbie Gabbard, Doug Pearson, Glenn Pearson and Ricky Pearson; 27 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great-grandchildren: several nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, James “Pig” Agee.

Services will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday, May 16, 2014, at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home with Bro. Mark Pearson officiating. Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Bill Smith, Dwayne Bogie, Chris Bullins, Cyriacus “Al” Alcindor, Scott Sowers and Richy Lowery. Honorary bearers will be Sherman W. Agee III, Richard Burlin Agee and Charles Long.

Flowers are welcome or donations may be made to the Compassionate Care Center, 350 Isaacs Lane, Richmond, KY 40475.
