Mable Cox Lewis, 86

Dreyfus — Mable Cox Lewis, 86, of Dreyfus, passed away Saturday, November 2, 2013, at The Terrace in Berea.

Mrs. Lewis was born in Madison County on October 10, 1927, to the late Reuben and Ila Mae Durbin Cox.

She worked for Super Value in Richmond and enjoyed farm work, especially stripping tobacco.

She is survived by: her daughter, Sue Carol Lewis Conner (Harvey); her son, Wayne Lewis (Doris); two brothers, Paul D. Cox and Johnny Cox (Lois); seven sisters, Isabelle Roberts (Shelton), Alverta White, Stella Crow, Etta Carpenter (James), Jewell Jones (Lewis), Brenda Cadman (Dick) and Linda Bloss (Ronnie Colbenson); four grandchildren, Libby Jones (Darrel), Christie Lewis, Melissa Lamb and Amy Hayes; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and her special cousin, Ona Lee Meeks.

Mrs. Lewis is preceded in death by: her husband, Milton “Buck” Lewis; two brothers, Jimmy Cox and Perry Cox; and her granddaughter Lora Gay Conner.

Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 5, 2013, at Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home with Rev. Owen Moody officiating.

Burial will follow in the Manse Cemetery of Paint Lick.

Visitation will be from noon Tuesday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Carpenter, Danny Dale Lewis, Jerry Carpenter and Randall Carpenter.
