Brodhead — James Edward Burns, 53, of Brodhead, Ky., formerly of Richmond, passed away Thursday, October 31, 2013, at Rockcastle Regional Hospital in Mt. Vernon, Ky.

James was born April 9, 1960, in Connersville, Ind., to Ada Christine Richardson Burns and the late Vinson Burns. He was self employed as an auto body and paint collision specialist and was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his mother, Ada, he is survived by: his fiancée, Ann Cromer; two sons, Kevin (Elizabeth) Ramsey of Berea, Ky., and Keegan Rose of Brodhead, Ky.; one daughter, Amanda (Jeff) Saylor, their daughter Shelby, and Amanda’s mother, Judy Burns of Richmond, Ky.; two sisters, Lucille Burns Green of Richmond, Ky., and Marlene Burns Karvaski of Lexington, Ky.; several nieces, nephews, family and friends.

In addition to his father, Vinson, he was preceded in death by two brothers, George “Sonny” Vinson Burns and Bart Jefferson “BJ” Burns.

Funeral services for James Burns will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday Nov. 5, 2013, at the Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home with Bro. Mark Sarver officiating. Burial will follow in the Pilot Knob Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday, November 4, 2013, at the Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Lee Green, Jeff Burns, Charlie Brinegar, David Richardson, Steve Watson, Darrell Cain, Leon Bennett and Mikael Burns.

Honorary pallbearers will be David Burns, George Richardson, Raymond Richardson, Robert Richardson, Charles Richardson, John Richardson, Art Agnew, Terry Howard, BJ Burns Jr. and Walter Richardson.
