Hugh M. McCay Sr., Lexington, passed away Wednesday, October 9, 2013.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Helen Hisel McCay and a sister, Mary Jo Whitaker.
Hugh was a Kentucky Colonel, a Vietnam era veteran, Army SG E-5; and retired from the GE Lexington Lamp Plant after 30 years of employment. He was a member of Day Break Community Church.
He is survived by: his son, Hugh “Mason” McCay Jr. and Heather Hobbs (Lex); two daughters, Caryn McCay and Elizabeth McCay, both of Lexington; a brother, Don McCay of Louisville; three sisters, Bobbie Adams of Waco, Betty Blevins of Berea and Mildred Dean of Leesburg, Fla.; four grandchildren Payton, Nathan, Allie and Ethan; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of Hugh's life will be held from 4 to 6 p.m., Wednesday, October 16, 2013, at Clark Legacy Center, Brannon Crossing, with a service to follow at 6 p.m.
Private family burial will take place Thursday, October 17.
