Danny Carl Creech, 59

WACO — Danny Carl Creech, 59, of Waco, Ky., passed peacefully at his home Saturday, September 21, 2013.

He was born May 17, 1954, in Harlan County, Kentucky to Theodore (Ted) and Alma Wilson Creech of Lejunior, both of whom preceded him in death.

He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy who served during the Vietnam War, was a coal miner in Harlan County and a security guard at Sherwin-Williams for 8 years.

He is survived by: his wife of 39 years, Kathy Cain Creech of Waco; four daughters, Sherry Sparks (Scotty) of Waco, April Collins(Paul) of Loyall, Ky., Mary Drasitis (Tony) of Lexington, Ill., and Rachel Creech of Waco; one brother, Donnie Creech(Audrey) of Lejunior, Ky.; one sister, Sheila Smith(Herman) of Troy, Ohio; eight grandchildren, Alley Sparks, Nicholas Sparks, Devan Collins, Kersyn Collins, Tristan Drasitis, Baby Drasitis (expecting), Payton Lake and Bryson Marcum.

The visitation for Danny Creech will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, September 24, 2013, with the service following at 7 p.m. at the Friendship Valley Baptist Church with Bro. Ralph Shepperson officiating.

The Madison County Honor Guard will serve as pallbearers. Donations to the church are requested in lieu of flowers.

    A native of Richmond, Kentucky, he was the son of Marcus and Johnetta Arch Winburn, both of whom preceded him in death. Gary had been an employee of the former Begley Drug Company and was a retired employee of Car Quest Auto Parts Store. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Richmond.

    She was born March 23, 1940, in Garrard County, Kentucky, to the late Jasper and Mary Stella Moore Prewitt.
    Joyce was a graduate of Buckeye High School, class of 1959. She retired from the Madison County Detention Center as a deputy jailer. She loved raising flowers, working puzzles and watching UK basketball.
