Margaret O. Graham

RICHMOND — Margaret O. Graham, of Richmond, passed away on Sunday, April 7, 2013, at Kindred Hospital in Louisville. She was married to David Rowe Graham for over 60 years.

Margaret was born in Nashville, Ark., and was the daughter of Paul and Lee Garrison Oden, both of whom preceded her in death.

She received her B.S. degree from the University of Arkansas at Monticello and then completed her master’s and EDS at Eastern Kentucky University. She taught at EKU’s Model Laboratory School in Richmond, from which she retired. She was past president of the Kentucky Middle School Association as well as being a member of the Alpha Delta Kappa teacher fraternity.

Margaret was a member of First Baptist Church of Richmond where she had held many offices. She was the founder and first teacher of the BYKOTA Sunday school class, and taught the University Sunday school class for 20 years. She was a member of the Pattie A. Clay Association and was a past chairman of the PACA Ball.

In addition to her husband, survivors include: one son, Paul S. Graham (Cindy) of Erlanger; one daughter, Davida “Dee” Ard (Chuck) of Decatur, Ala.; four grandchildren, Amanda G. Hutchins (Tim) of Tallahassee, Fla., Whitney G. Hubbard (Brian) of Indianapolis, Ind., David W. Ard, of Decatur, Ala., and Kimber Ard, of Gainesville, Ga.; five great-grandchildren, Samuel & Laura Hutchins, both of Tallahassee, Fla., Dane Ard of Decatur, Ala., and Haileigh & Hanna Hubbard, both of Indianapolis, Ind.

Funeral services for Margaret O. Graham will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 11, 2013, at First Baptist Church with Pastor Bill Fort officiating. Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Thursday at the church.

Pallbearers will be David Ard, Samuel Hutchins, Tim Hutchins, Brian Hubbard, Ken Prewitt, Ben McPherson, John Gump, Scott Althauser and Ed Worley. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the BYKOTA Sunday school class.

Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home is serving the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to Hospice Care Plus, 208 Kidd Drive, Berea, KY  40403, or First Baptist Church General Fund, 425 Eastern Bypass, Richmond, KY 40475.

    Gary Lee Winburn, 69, of Richmond, passed away Monday, April 14, 2014, at the UK Medical Center in Lexington.
    A native of Richmond, Kentucky, he was the son of Marcus and Johnetta Arch Winburn, both of whom preceded him in death. Gary had been an employee of the former Begley Drug Company and was a retired employee of Car Quest Auto Parts Store. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Richmond.

    Joyce Rhodus, 74, passed away Friday morning, April 11, 2014, at her home.
    She was born March 23, 1940, in Garrard County, Kentucky, to the late Jasper and Mary Stella Moore Prewitt.
    Joyce was a graduate of Buckeye High School, class of 1959. She retired from the Madison County Detention Center as a deputy jailer. She loved raising flowers, working puzzles and watching UK basketball.
