RICHMOND — J.C. “Whitey” Agee, 80, husband of Billie Agee, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013, in Lexington at the Veterans Hospital.

He was retired from Eastern Kentucky University and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean War. Whitey was of the Baptist faith.

Whitey was the son of the late Irvine and Hallie B. Goodlett Agee. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Sadie Marie Fullilove Agee, and a special sister-in-law, Edith Agee.

Survivors include: his wife, Billie Agee; one son, James Mitchell Agee (Terri) of Stanford; one stepdaughter, Debbie Nelson (Scott) of Nancy; one brother, Sherman Agee of Richmond; one sister, Christine Donathan; five grandchildren, Jamie Agee, Kandice Agee, Kaleigh Agee, Mason Agee, Sadie Agee; two stepgrandchildren, Stephen Padgett, Brandon Padgett; two great-grandchildren, Paiten Serre and Kailynn Webster; one special nephew, Doug Risk; one brother-in-law, Mitch Donathan.

Funeral services for Whitey will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 7, 2013, at the Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home with Bro. Kenneth Bishop officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Jr. Agee, Richy Lowery, Johnny Clines, Clay Clines, Danny Mason Short, Michael Short, Rick Allsbrook, Joe Whalin, Danny Rawlins and Michael Rawlins.
