Lois Roll Gadd, 67

BEREA — Lois Roll Gadd, age 67, wife of Floyd Gadd, went to be with her Savior on August 18, 2013.

Lois was a faithful and active member of the Bethel Baptist Church. Lois’ love for Jesus was obvious as she served others in so many different ways, whether it was visiting with and encouraging senior citizens or serving meals to many precious children year after year in Vacation Bible School.

Lois was one of the first people to volunteer when there was a need to organize and serve a meal for a grieving family or simply to offer a kind word and a hug to someone who was struggling.

The fudge that she made with love often reminded many people that somebody really did care about them.

Because of her love for the Lord, Lois was to her family all the things that the Bible describes that a follower of Christ is to be.

She was a faithful and loving wife to her husband Floyd. This was evidenced by their 37 years of marriage.

Lois and her sister Sheila had a special bond that was obvious to anyone who knew them.  Not only were they biological sisters, they were also united by their faith in Jesus Christ.

Lois’s love for her family went beyond mere words, her willingness to go the extra mile in meeting the needs of her family was a source of great joy for both her and those she loved.

Whether Lois was sitting by the bedside of a sick family member, preparing a meal for someone going through a difficult time or simply offering a reassuring smile, her ministry to her family will never be forgotten.

Lois was born in Brodhead to the late Leo E. and Bernice Raye Owens Roll. In addition to her parents she is also preceded in death by: her mother- and father-in-law, Luther and Ida Gadd; brothers-in-law LeRoy (Brenda) Gadd and Roger Johnson; and nephew Tony Gadd.

She is survived by: her husband, Floyd Gadd Jr.; one sister, Sheila Johnson; brothers-in-law Tommy (Sue) Gadd and Timmy (Mary Lee) Gadd. Lois is also survived by Parker Grace Wilburn to whom she will always be “Auntie Lois.”

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, August 21, 2013, at Bethel Baptist Church with Bro. Kenny Davis and Bro. Larry David Freeman officiating. Burial will follow in the Berea Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6 to 9 p.m. at the church.

Active pallbearers will be Jimmy Fritz, Randy Lamb, Randy Linville, Mike Anderson, Larry Linville and Jimmy Parsons. Honorary bearers will be the Adult Ladies Sunday School Class of Bethel Baptist Church.

In her memory, donations may be made to Hospice Care Plus or the Bethel Baptist Church Building Fund.

Lakes Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
