BEREA — Sarah Elizabeth Gill, age 97, daughter of the late Grover Cleveland Hounshell and Obie Hounshell Chasteen, died Sunday, March 17, 2013, in Lexington.

Elizabeth was a former nurse’s aide at Berea Hospital and Good Samaritan Hospital in Lexington. She was a charter member of the Liberty Avenue Baptist Church in Berea and was currently a member of the Bethel Baptist Church.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by: her husband, True Harold Gill; and her children, Harold Gill and Helen Louise Dean; siblings Roy Hounshell, Carl (Gerri) Hounshell, Lila Gabbard, Alice Marie Feeback, Charles Chasteen and Homer Chasteen; and infant children Ray and Henry.

Elizabeth is survived by: her brothers, Leonard (Edith) Hounshell, Bill (Mary) Chasteen, Curtis Chasteen; a sister, Thelma (Virgil) Combs; and a daughter-in-law, Gladys Gill. Several grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Friday, March 22, 2013, at Lakes Funeral Home with Rev. Kenny Felty officiating. Burial will be in the Madison County Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, March 21, 2013, at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Larry, Owen, Everett and Barry Gill, Bruce Parker and Earl Clark.
