Geneva Rose Parker, 70
Geneva Rose Parker, age, 70 of Crooksville Road in Berea, passed away Saturday, October 13, 2012, at her home.
Geneva was born in Jackson County to the late Lester and Sarah Jane Fox Rose. She was formerly employed at Sweet Betty’s Restaurant.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her son, Lester Mitchell Parker; one brother, Kenneth Rose; and one sister, Ruth Rose.
She is survived by: her husband, Kenneth M. Parker; four daughters, Talina Rose (Mark) Mathews, D’Andree Parker (Jimmy) Shearer, Bobbie Parker (Johnny) Welch and Billie Jean (Miles) Rawlings Shumaker. One sister, Eva (Hershel) Russell; five grandchildren, Grant Mathews, Brenna Mathews, Kendra Shearer, Raelee Welch and Morgan Welch, numerous nieces and nephews also survive her.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. with visitation starting at noon at Lakes Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Gray officiating. Burial will follow in Foxtown, Kentucky. Visitation will be Monday evening at the funeral home from 6 to 9 p.m.
Active pallbearers will be Vincent Rogers, Quintin Rogers, Charles Russell, Miles Shumaker, Tim Chrisman, Gene Brock Jr., Cody Shumaker and Austin Oliver. Honorary bearers will be Jimmy Shearer, Johnny Welch, Mark Mathews, Grant Mathews and John Parker.

She was retired from Brown & Williams Tobacco Company in Lexington. She was a faithful listener of the WLJC Gospel Broadcast and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Gary had been an employee of the former Begley Drug Company and was a retired employee of Car Quest Auto Parts Store. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Richmond.
