Donald Wayne Marshall, 59

BEREA — Donald Wayne Marshall, 59, of Berea, passed away Friday, January 10, 2014, at the VA Medical Center in Lexington.

Mr. Marshall was born in Madison County on July 9, 1954, to William “Billy Lee” Marshall and Minnie Abner Marshall Hymer.

He had worked for the Berea Hospital and Meineke Car Care. He enjoyed serving as a safety officer, chaplain and past president of the Red Lick Fire Department. He also was a United States Army veteran and member of the Owsley Fork Baptist Church.

He is survived by: his wife, Betty Frances Satterfield Marshall; his mother, Minnie Abner Marshall Hymer of Richmond; his son, Robert Marshall and wife Rebecca of Richmond; three daughters, Christy Isaacs and husband Keith of Berea, Stephanie Blanton of Richmond and Jackie Mullins; his stepson, John Crane of Big Hill; and 11 grandchildren, Rhianna Bowlin, John Paul Crane, Zadie Victoria Lee Crane, Heather Marshall, Zachary Isaacs, William Feltner, David Feltner, Lindsay Feltner, Kwyntyn Marshall, Madison Marshall and Katrina Marshall.

Mr. Marshall was preceded in death by his father, William “Billy Lee” Marshall.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 15, 2014, at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home with Bro. Danny Robbins and Bro. Kenneth Wilder officiating. Burial will follow in the Madison County Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be John Crane, Shelby Dunigan, Thomas Bowman, Wayne Adams, Glenn Stewart and Tommy Lamb.

Honorary pallbearers will be Lester Satterfield, Sal Zanghi, Kwyntyn Marshall, William Feltner, David Feltner and Barry Vires.

    Gary Lee Winburn, 69, of Richmond, passed away Monday, April 14, 2014, at the UK Medical Center in Lexington.
    A native of Richmond, Kentucky, he was the son of Marcus and Johnetta Arch Winburn, both of whom preceded him in death. Gary had been an employee of the former Begley Drug Company and was a retired employee of Car Quest Auto Parts Store. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Richmond.

    Joyce Rhodus, 74, passed away Friday morning, April 11, 2014, at her home.
    She was born March 23, 1940, in Garrard County, Kentucky, to the late Jasper and Mary Stella Moore Prewitt.
    Joyce was a graduate of Buckeye High School, class of 1959. She retired from the Madison County Detention Center as a deputy jailer. She loved raising flowers, working puzzles and watching UK basketball.
