RICHMOND — Robert May Tipton, 75, of Richmond, husband of Virginia Falin Tipton, passed away Wednesday, December 25, 2013, at the Hospice Compassionate Care Center of Richmond.

He was born November 23, 1938, in Madison County to Everett and Molly Brock Tipton, both of whom preceded him in death.

Robert was a farmer, a heavy equipment operator and a member of Tates Creek Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, Virginia, he is survived by: two daughters, Melinda Davidson (Gordon) of Richmond and Sherri Tipton of Winchester; two grandchildren, Brandon (Kayla) Davidson and Michael Davidson; an honorary daughter, Yulanda Ratliff Switzer; three sisters, Helen Bullock, Judy Hall and Jean Moody; two brothers-in-law, Don Falin and Paul Falin; and several nieces and nephews.

Robert was also preceded in death by: one sister, Mary Willie Jackson, and two brothers, Manford and Vardy Tipton.

Service will be 11:30 a.m. Friday, December 27, 2013, at the Tates Creek Baptist Church with Jeff Jackson Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Madison County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time on Friday at the church.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Davidson, Michael Davidson, Arlin Tipton, Josh Jackson, Greg Brown and Michael Tipton. Honorary bearers will be Linville Jackson, Robert Hall, Don Falin, Paul Falin and Gordon Davidson.
