Gary Ray Perkins, 61
Gary Ray Perkins, 61, husband of Judy Curry Perkins, passed away Sunday, November 1, 2009, at the Pattie A. Clay Regional Medical Center.
He was born in Madison County on August 16, 1948, to Modena Cox Perkins and the late Jesse Ray Perkins and resided here his entire life.
Mr. Perkins was a retired battalion chief from the Richmond Fire Department and was a member of the Madison Hills Christian Church.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by: one son, Kevin Scott Perkins (Margaret); two brothers, Duane Perkins (Terry), Dean Perkins (Janice); one sister, Brenda Strong (Stevie), and grandchildren Megan Lee Perkins and Trevor Lee Sanders, all of Richmond.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11a.m. Wednesday, November 4, 2009, at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home with Bro. Marty Frazer and Dr. Art Hobbs officiating. Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m., Tuesday, November 3, 2009, at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Kenneth Tate, Greg King, Sid Rollins, Wayne Agee, Charles Cochran, Steve Strong, Pearl Cowan and Danny Williams.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Strong, Ed Worley, Bill Clouse, Ann Durham, Mike Brewer, Dude Cochran, Lowell Thomas, and employees and retirees of The Richmond Fire Dept.
