Kenneth H. “Ken” Stephens, 74
Kenneth H. “Ken” Stephens, 74, of Louisville, passed away Thursday in his home after a long battle with cancer.
He was born in Yamacraw, Ky. He was the owner and operator of Ken Stephens Oil Co. and was the golf chairman for the American Cancer Golf Tournament for 10 straight years. He also served on the board of directors for the American Cancer Society.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Arnold H. Stephens and the former Artie Mae Davis; brothers, Don and Gene Stephens.
Mr. Stephens is survived by: his wife, Donna G. Stephens; his children, Laura Elmore (Mark), Scott Stephens of Lexington, Pat Stephens (Joni) of Richmond, Tim Stephens (Jenny) of Richmond, and Mike Stephens (Nancy) of Jacksonville, Fla.; a brother, Michael Stephens of South Point, Ohio; a sister, Barb (Bob) Weagraff of Orlando, Fla.; and 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
His funeral mass will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Edward Catholic Church, 9608 Sue Helen Dr., Louisville. Burial will be in St. Edward Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Owen Funeral Home, Jeffersontown, 9318 Taylorsville Rd., Louisville.
