Daniel Rector, 22
Daniel Todd Rector, 22, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2008, in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
He was born in Hazard, Ky., on July 7, 1986. He had a deep love for baseball and was an exceptional player. He played baseball for Madison Middle School and Madison Central High School before his graduation in 2004.
He earned a baseball scholarship to play for Lindsey Wilson College and received various other awards. His favorite major league team was the Los Angeles Angels.
Survivors include: his mother, Pamela Sue Rose Rector of Richmond; his father, Steven Todd Rector of Goldsboro, N.C.; his paternal grandparents, Bill and Margaret Rector, of Middlesboro; his maternal grandmother, Beatrice Rose, of Hazard; a host of aunts, uncles and cousins and many, many friends. He was preceded in death by: his paternal grandfather, Daniel Bernard “Pick” Rose.
Funeral services will be conducted at noon Saturday, Aug. 9, 2008, at Eastside Baptist Church with Pastor Joe Woods officiating. Burial will
follow in the Richmond Cemetery. Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Friday at the Eastside Baptist Church.
His friends and baseball teammates will serve as pallbearers.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to Richmond Little League.
