Frances Rhodus, 85
Frances Witt Rhodus, 85, widow of Jesse Rhodus, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2008 in Pattie A. Clay Regional Medical Center.
She was born Aug. 22, 1922, in Clark County, to the late Cecil and Rosa Blanton Witt. Mrs. Rhodus was a member of Red House Baptist Church and worked at Newberry’s and Wal-mart, prior to her retirement.
Survivors include: her son and daughter, Garland (Linda) Rhodus and Louise (Wayne) Abney, of Richmond; 11 grandchildren, Debbie (Donald) Lunsford, Donna (Devon) Hamlin, David Rhodus, Diane (Aaron) Welch, Denise (Johnny) Deaton, Jennifer (Paul) Frazier, Mimi (Eric) Schoneman, Phillip Sanders, Gina (Eric) Roberts, Brian (Shannon) Abney and Stephen Abney; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Sanders.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 9, 2008, at Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home with the Rev. Alfred Gormley officiating. Burial will follow at Richmond Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 8, 2008, at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Brian Abney, Stephen Abney, Eric Roberts, Matthew Frazier, David Rhodus and Phillip Sanders.
