Frances Elkins, 71

Frances Evon Elkins, 71, the wife of Robert J. “Bobby” Elkins, passed away Thursday afternoon, July 8, 2009, in St. Joseph East Hospital in Lexington.
Mrs. Elkins was born on July 7, 1938, in Rockcastle County, the daughter of the late Robert Gadd and Anna Croutcher Isaacs. She was a retired employee of Dresser Industries and was a member of the Panola Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son, Steve Sutton.
Survivors in addition to her husband include: one son, Greg Sutton (Sammy) of Mt. Vernon; a step-son, Scott Elkins of Waco; step-daughter, Robin Galloway (Jay) of Richmond; one sister, Etta Kirby of Greenfield, Ind.; one-granddaughter, Amy Newton (Austin); four step-grandchildren, Jessica Hurt (Jason), Jared Elkins, Reagan Read and Riana Read; two step-great-grandchildren, Kendal Read and Hayley Hunt; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 11, 2009 at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home, with Rev. Phillip Ronk officiating. Burial will follow at Madison Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie King, Rob Adams, Austin Newton, Scott Elkins, Jared Elkins and Jay Galloway.
Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Tipton, Jimmy Hacker and Steve Palmer.
