Earl Duerson, 83, of Peggy Flats Road, died Tuesday, May 6, 2008, in his home. He was a native of Garrard County, a retired office manager for Blue Grass Energy and had farmed all his life. Mr. Duerson was a member of the Whites Memorial Presbyterian Church, Kingston Masonic Lodge # 315 and the American Legion Post # 50. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Mr. Duerson is survived by: his wife, Birtie Jane Duerson of Paint Lick; his daughter, Debra Jane Duerson-Swinford (Ernest) of Paint Lick; his son, Earl Douglas Duerson of Paint Lick; his grandson, Daniel Earl Duerson of Paint Lick; and brother, Carl Duerson of Savannah, Okla.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Guy K. Duerson, Sr., and Ruth Terrill Duerson; his brothers, Guy K. Duerson, Jr. and Robert Duerson; and his sister, Ann Coates.
Funeral services for Mr. Duerson will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Davis & Powell Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Browning officiating. Burial will follow in the Madison County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with a masonic rites service at 7:30 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Daniel Duerson, Nathan Leonesio, Jeff Duerson, Robert Chenault, Larry Duerson and Mark Naylor.
