Richmond Little League sign-ups set for Saturday

RICHMOND — Registration for individuals wishing to play in the Richmond Little League in the 2013 season will be held at the Galaxy Bowling Center on Saturday, Jan. 12, Saturday, Jan. 19 and Sunday, Jan. 20 from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. each day.

Those who do not sign up on these three dates can be placed on a waiting list by emailing richmondlittleleague @gmail.com. Include the child’s name, birth date, parent’s name and contact information. If additional players are needed, those on the list will be contacted.

All players who did not play during the Spring 2012 season in the Richmond Little League program must present a certified birth certificate at time of sign -up. A hospital

certificate is not a certified birth certificate. You must obtain a copy via the Internet at www.vitalcheck.com.

Costs for individual leagues are:

Wee Ball — $40

T-Ball — $60

Rookie Coach Pitch — $70

Coach Pitch — $70

Minor — $70

Major — $70

Senior — $100

There will be a $10 late fee for registering after Jan. 20, 2013.

To be eligible to play in the leagues, children’s ages, as of April 30, 2013,  must be:

Wee Ball — 4-5

T-Ball — 5-6

Rookie Coach Pitch — 6-7

Coach Pitch — 8-9

Minor — 9-10

Major — 11-12

Senior — 13-16

Players who are six and have played one season of T-Ball may play in Rookie Coach Pitch.

Players who are seven and have played one spring season in Rookie Coach Pitch may tryout for Coach Pitch, but are not guaranteed to be drafted into Coach Pitch.

Players who are eight and have played two spring seasons, one of which was in Coach Pitch, may tryout for Minor League, but are not guaranteed to be drafted into Minor League.

Players who are nine and not drafted into Minor League will be placed on a team in Coach Pitch.

Players who are 11 and not drafted in Major League will be placed on a Minor League Team.

Senior League will begin in May after the conclusion of the school baseball season. An additional sign-up date will be on Sunday, March 10, from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Little League office. The tryout date for Senior League is March 17.

Registration forms are available at www.eteamz.com/richmondkyllb and will also be available on the sign-up dates. Bring completed forms to sign-up; make payment, show ID and/or show birth certificate if needed. Payment of cash or check is expected at sign-up. There is no scholarship/financial assistance program.

Volunteer forms have to be completed by all adults who want to be a manager, coach, to help at practices or to assist with players in any way when providing service to the league.

Applications — including picture ID — for manager or coach should be given to one of the commissioners at sign-ups. All managers and coaches must be approved by the board of directors. All other volunteers may be approved by a Commissioner. Managers and coaches will be required to attend trainings and meetings as scheduled.
