CROSS COUNTRY: Local runners receive honors

RICHMOND — Three local cross-country standouts were recognized by the Kentucky Track and Cross Country Coaches Association (KTCCCA) for their performances during this past season.

Model senior Hannah Nnoromele was named to the KTCCCA Class A All-State girls second team. Nnoromele was Model’s top finisher in the Class A state meet at the Kentucky Horse Park Nov. 10, placing 12th in a time of 20:56.16.

Berea Community senior Jonathan Smith was selected to the KTCCCA Class A All-State boys second team.

Smith ran as an individual in the state meet, finishing in 16th place with a time of 17:29.73.

Madison Central senior Mason Crump received KTCCCA Class 3A All-State Honorable Mention honors.

Crump was Central’s top finisher in the state meet at the Horse Park, finishing 42nd in a time of 17:22.81.

Crump and Smith were also named to the boys KTCCCA Area 6 All-Area Team (Lexington Area), while Nnoromele was named to the girls KTCCCA Area 6 All-Area Team.
