The Lady Pirates got three goals from senior Sydney Sandefur as they earned a hard-fought 5-3 win over Bryan Station Thursday on Senior Night.
Senior Tonya Renzenbrink also scored as Berea Community (12-4-1) won its second-straight game.
“It was just a really good way to end the regular season,” Berea coach Jerry Bingham said. “Now, we’ve got to get a couple of good practices in and get ready for the district tournament.”
Sandefur scored all three of her goals in the first half. The senior scored with 38:47 left, then again with 25:32 left and with 23:28 left in the opening half.
Bryan Station scored twice during that stretch to stay within a goal.
But Emma Williams scored with 27 seconds left before the half to put Berea up 4-2.
Renzenbrink scored with 28:24 left in the second half off her own rebound.
Bryan Station answered with a goal less than a minute later, but got no closer.
Holly Musick earned the win in net for Berea.
The Lady Pirates are set to return to action Monday against Madison Southern in the opening round of the 44th District Tournament at Madison Central High School.
Madison Central 7, Somerset 0
The Lady Indians extended their winning streak to six games and their shutout streak to seven games with a 7-0 victory over Somerset Thursday on the road.
Madison Central finishes the regular season 15-2-1.
Dani Parsley had two goals and Bailey Harden also had a goal for the Lady Indians.
Central is set to return to action Monday against Model in the opening round of the 44th District Tournament at Madison Central High School.
Western Hills 10, Model 0
The Lady Patriots wrapped up the regular season with a 10-0 loss at home Thursday at Western Hills.
Model (0-16) is set to return to action Monday against Madison Central in the opening round of the 44th District Tournament at Madison Central.
